Frequently Asked Questions
What are your fees? Fees are due at the time of service. Discounts are available when multiple sessions are paid for at a time. (i.e. paying monthly). What payment methods do you take? Cash and check are accepted methods of payment. Do you take insurance? I am an out of network provider. You will need to check with your insurance carrier to see at what rate the will reimburse you for an out of network provider. I am happy to provide you with a receipt for services to submit to your insurance carrier. Please be aware that to be reimbursed, I am required to give you a mental health diagnosis that may stay on your insurance records. When are you available? Appointments are available on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. How often should sessions be scheduled? It is helpful when first developing the therapeutic relationship to have consistent appointments (i.e. weekly). As progress is made, many clients choose to continue with weekly appointments. Some choose to reduce the frequency and meet every other week. I am flexible and like for the client to be involved in the decision making process regarding how often sessions need to be held. What counseling theory do you use? I use a variety of counseling methods and like to meet with clients before determining what method will work best. This is based on an individual basis again, I like to have client's input as to what style they might best respond to. Overall, I like to help people challenge the ways they think about events in their lives. Usually, it is not how an event effects us, but how we think about it, that causes us pain and suffering. |
